The ship's inactivation ceremony was conducted in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, at the "Kam Pier" (S-1B) on 8 August. The ship and crew were host to a number of dignitaries and local representatives, including the same principal speaker who spoke, and kahu (Hawaiian priests) who blessed the ship, at her launching in 1964.
